Founded in 2015 in Ljubljana by actor and director Robert Waltl, the Festival House of Tolerance explores critical social issues such as xenophobia, homophobia, antisemitism, anti-migrant policies, racism, and hate speech through its diverse artistic programs. The festival places particular emphasis on the culture of remembrance and the education of young audiences.Within its film program, the festival screens up to 15 films each year across various genres, all addressing themes of tolerance. Screenings are typically followed by interviews and discussions with guest artists, fostering dialogue and reflection. The educational morning program is a key component, specifically designed for pupils, high school, and university students, offering screenings and interactive discussions to promote awareness and understanding.Additional artistic programs—including theatre performances, exhibitions, concerts, and literary evenings—are organized to further highlight the importance of tolerance. All festival programs are free of charge for audiences.
