Immersive Festival
In 2023, the DME Project presents the 2nd edition of the Immersive Festival, an annual event dedicated to electroacoustic music that highlights the two dome-shaped sound systems of the Lisboa Incomum space. This is a system consisting of speakers arranged in space, enveloping the audience in a dome, allowing a deep perception of the Space in Music parameter, in an immersion of a flow of sounds and movements.
The festival will take place from 14 to 17 April, promoting Composition Seminars, a sound installation and concerts, with a focus on a multidisciplinary approach that will cross music and contemporary dance. On the four days, the concerts will take place at 19h30. The guest composers will be Annette Vande Gorne (Belgium), Daniel Teruggi (Argentina/France) and Jonty Harrison (United Kingdom). In addition, the composer Carlos Caires will present the new version of his software IRIN, now prepared for diffusion on a sixteen channel system.
A sound installation by the artist Dullmea will also be on display at Lisboa Incomum during the days of the festival, and can be visited between 14h and 21h. In the multidisciplinary field, the Portugueses dancers Ângelo Cid Neto and Mariana Dias, from the association Sentidos Ilimitados, will present a new choreography created from three works by the invited composers.
