International Theater festival Sommerwerft
The Sommerwerft – the international theatre festival on the river is coming back to the banks of the Main again this year. For seventeen days, the Wesel shipyard is transformed into a cultural space full of theatre, dance, music and performance.
With this year's topic "Human Rights - Stories about the Possible" we invite you to deal with the political present - and to dare to look into the future together.
What does utopia mean today? How can this term be filled in view of the destruction that our way of life brings into the world and into our togetherness? We are sure of one thing: we need spaces where we can come together and, despite everything, dare to look to the future. This space is created - when we meet on the theatre square, listen to the sounds in the Bedouin tent, which are in motion in workshops. For seventeen days the impossible becomes conceivable.
