JAM - Jazz Area Metropolitana
Jazz Area Metropolitana is a festival conceived and promoted by nusica.org. In keeping with the association’s mission, the festival takes place across the Veneto region, particularly in the provinces of Venice, Padua and Treviso, promoting culture, collaboration, innovation and artistic exchange.
Jazz and its live expression are the common thread running through the network. Jazz Area Metropolitana sees music as a creative act that brings performers and audiences together, fostering meaningful encounters and offering new perspectives on the world around us.
Concerts, live performances, interdisciplinary projects, new productions, research and collective experimentation are at the heart of the festival’s activities. Events take place not only in conventional venues such as theatres, auditoriums and concert halls, but also in shops, historic villas, warehouses, private homes, parks, nature reserves and other public spaces not traditionally associated with live music.
Over the course of its ten-year history, JAM has welcomed musicians from countries including Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland and the United States, bringing live music to unconventional venues and offering audiences new and unexpected ways to experience music.
Through these activities, music connects places, people and traditions, encouraging curiosity, cultural discovery and mutual growth. Music is a creative act capable of reinterpreting reality and revealing its complexity from new perspectives. With its fluidity, freedom of improvisation and universal language, jazz offers a powerful means of exploring new ideas and values.
Jazz Area Metropolitana therefore supports artists who embrace innovation, from established musicians who have made artistic renewal a defining feature of their work to emerging talents building bridges towards the future.
