The donkey and the bagpiper it's a itinerant festival that goes through the Miranda do Douro's region in the northeast of Portugal. Every year it passes different villages making a walk between donkeys of the mirandese breed and a lot of mirandese bagpipers and percussionists. At night is when the concerts happen focused on portuguese traditional and fusion bands, but also with an international bands mainly from Iberian region. During the day there are also some activities, beside the walks between villages, like conferences, theatre, art exhibitions, activities for kids and workshops on traditional dances, music instruments making and playing, mirandese language, and much more, always with a constant environmental awareness!
