LIFE is ZONA K's festival that positions itself at the intersection of theatre, art and media to stimulate reflection on the present through the exchange of multiple narratives.LIFE's focus is to bring together distant yet similar languages in their documentary approach; to inform, narrate, create connections, dare, unveil the complexity of today to give audiences the responsibility of interpreting what they see, read, and hear. To do this, LIFE adopts a multiplicity of formats: performances, collective and participatory experiences, visual art installations, photography exhibitions, cinema, and talks.LIFE proposes a theatre that observes and interprets the present, draws from real data and renders it vividly on stage, combining performance, visual art, cinema, journalism, science and research, listening and dialogue. The relationship with reality becomes both the object and instrument of an investigation that remixes narratives and languages, reconsiders the concept of author and performer, and reformulates the criteria for experiencing and appropriating spaces. Theatre becomes a magnifying glass on the grey areas of narrative, on the manipulation of the perception of reality, on the construction of public opinion.LIFE is an explicit reference to the famous American photojournalism magazine that documented the crucial moments of the 20th century. "To see life; to see the world" wrote Henry R. Luce in the first issue of the magazine, with a programmatic manifesto that marked the history of journalism.Seeing life and the world today requires a new "ethics of observation."LIFE proposes itself as a meeting place and laboratory of ideas where artists, journalists, activists and the public can confront the challenges of the present and the transformative power of art: to see the world of this century by exploring the tools to decode it, to avoid falling into the traps of manipulation and disinformation.
