Lights in Alingsås is an annual lighting design festival, that started the year of 2000 and has been run by Alingsås Energi since 2018. During the month of October, the city of Alingsås thrives and over 70 000 - 90 000 visitors explore the festival. The installations are up and running, visitors can walk with a guide along the lighting trail, attend activities and various events. Six of the installations have been created in a one weeklong workshop, where international lighting designers and students collaborate. Lights in Alingsås is an important international meeting place for lighting designers, students, and companies. "The world comes to Alingsås".
