LUNALIA is the city festival of the Festival of Flanders Mechelen (successor to Mechelen hears Voices). The name refers at the same time to the Mechelen legend of the manblussers (luna) and to the fascinating universe of the song and the human voice (lia). LUNALIA is an international voice festival. In times of so-called "fake news", the Festival consciously searches for voices that have something real, something true to say. It is therefore not just about the "most beautiful songs", but it concerns all aspects of the speaking, singing, hesitant, very loud or very silent human voice.
