The Mente Festival is an 8-day event that transforms the Upper Maros region into a vibrant venue. Our main goal is to showcase local and universal Hungarian values, strengthen the identity of the Hungarian community, solidify the bond of Hungarian youth to the community, and promote Hungarian culture in the spirit of mutual dialogue and tolerance. The event takes place in the countryside surrounding Szászrégen, with programs happening at various locations from Sunday to Sunday, including Disznajó, Marosvécs, Beresztelke, Szászrégen, Magyaró, and Marosfelfalu, in outdoor spaces and cultural as well as religious venues. Our target audience consists of 17,000 Hungarian-speaking citizens in the region, as per the latest census, and tourists from outside the region. Among the programs, there are events specifically aimed at introducing Romanian speakers to Hungarian cultural values in the spirit of mutual dialogue and tolerance. We expect 5,000 visitors at the festival. The programmes are designed to appeal to a wide range of age groups and social circles, in order to attract the broadest possible audience with valuable events: pop music concerts, gastronomy, film and animation screenings, folk dance and folk music, roundtable discussions, medieval and baranta tents with related activities, children's workshops, sacred music concerts, and sports activities.
