The Meranofestival has been founded in 1986 by President Hermann Schnitzer and Artistic Director Andreas Cappello, in occasion of the 150th anniversary of Merano as a Sparesort. Since then the Festival has turned out to one of the most important events in the Alps, always under the same management. An audience of over 10000 a year, have the possibility to listen to the top-orchestras of all over the world between 25th August and 25th September at the beautiful Kurhaus.
