Move Off - 16th Edition

MOVE OFF is an International Dance Festival organised by the MOTUS Company in collaboration with Castelnuovo Berardenga City Council in the frame of the permanent artistic residency of the MOTUS Company at Vittorio Alfieri Theatre in Castelnuovo Berardenga (Siena, Italy). The sixteenth edition of the Move Off Festival is characterised by the presence of well-established Italian and International companies as well as by young choreographers selected through 2024 MOVE OFF Call for Young Choreographers.

23 March 2024, 9:00 p.m. :

• "Leave the world behind", choreography selected for 2024 MOVE OFF Call for Young Choreographers

An emotional odyssey, a hypnotic exploration, through the hidden recesses of aging and the relentless flowing of time. CollettivoDieci (Italia), Choreography by Anna Pesetti.

• "GENERATIONS"

The limits of our physical and psychological (im)mobility have an identical base in a society that increasingly uses psychological control over human movement as a fundamental category of power manifestation. Choreography by Branko Potočan (Slovenia), Production VITKAR Institute.

20 April 2024 9,00 p.m. :

• "CHNOPS" - National Premiere

CHNOPS (Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Phosphorus, Sulphur) is an imaginary journey to a near future, which takes inspiration from an "ancient anatomical atlas of the future", telling the story of the evolution of the human body. Choreography by Marianna Miozzo (Italy).

• "WORK-IN-PROGRESS"

A taste of the new production of the MOTUS Company (Italy), Coreography by Simona Cieri.

12 May 2024 9,00 p.m. :

• "LACUNA"

Bologna Central Station, August 2, 1980: in the waiting room a bomb is going to explode at 10,25 am. In that room Mr. G. Marcozzi, railway engineer and father of the choreographer, is missing since that day he delayed few minutes before going to work. A fatality that saved his life. Marcozzi Contemporary Theatre (Germany), Choreography by Daniela Marcozzi.

• "Io, Lei, Me"

A woman with her face hidden by a tin box, dances on the broken words of Patrizia Hartman: a sobbing interpretation of the hidden femininity, which is trapped but also evoked in each single movement. Atacama Company (Italy / Chile), Choreography by Patrizia Cavola and Ivan Truol.

23 May 2024 9,00 p.m. :

• "IN-SIDE", choreography selected for 2024 MOVE OFF Call for Young Choreographers

Two bodies charged with energy that come together in a subtle and magnetic way. Choreography by Lucia Montes and Mado Dallery (Spain).

• "Sciara (genesi)"

An invisible thread links man and Earth. A unique flow which is born and grows at the same time. The body is the tool allowing the union between those two poles in a symbiotic and equally autonous relationship. Petranuradanza (Italy), Choreography by Salvatore Romania and Laura Odierna.
