MUEVE. International Festival of Physical Theatre of Madrid 2027
Mueve is Madrid's International Physical Theatre Festival, created as a platform to promote and support Contemporary Performing Arts Creation, with the firm aim of fostering Performing Arts that take Physical Theatre as their starting point. We are also driven by the desire to bring Theatre closer to the public, making audiences participants in indoor and street performances, and offering spaces for training and dissemination.
The Festival is committed to a form of Theatre that crosses the boundaries of what is understandable and classifiable. It champions what is unseen, what does not gain recognition in a landscape devoted to the pursuit of commercial success as the sole driving force behind creation. It supports diversity and Performing Arts that raise questions by proposing new imaginaries and paths. It also seeks to contribute to the development of an artistic network that understands the essence of what the theatrical experience means, without being carried away by the trend towards superficiality and scrolling.
The Festival takes place around 27 March to commemorate World Theatre Day. In 2027, it will be held from 25 to 28 March.
With the aim of supporting emerging companies and artists from Madrid, the Festival launches an open call for Physical Theatre performance proposals.
