Nisville Jazz Festival
Nišville is an annual, (four days) summer music festival in the AncientFortress of Niš, Serbia which is helding at the middle of August. From thefestival’s very beginning (1995), its concept has been based on presenting the‘traditional’ jazz forms together with their fusion with the ethnic traditionfrom the different parts of the world. Since 2009, Nišville has moved to thelarge empty grass plateau in the Fortress. In addition to the main stages (6bands per evening), the program is located on several other free stages atdifferent points in the Fortress or Nis (Open Stage, Welcome Stage, MidnightJam Stage, River Stage...). One of the permanent segments is the free Nišvilleworkshop – chat meetings for young musicians, where almost all the participantsof the main program, appeared as lecturers.
