Notte Bianca
2025 marks the 19th birthday of Notte Bianca Valletta. An event that is still enjoying its youth honeymoon. Yet, throughout the years, the event constantly gained important popularity. Eventually, Notte Bianca is considered as on of the mayor events in Malta. Considering that the event comes soon after summer, a season full of never ending events, festivals and traditional feasts, it was definitely love at first sight with our loyal audiences. The principle objectives are to portray and support the local artists, the direct involvement of the community through cultural and artistic developments and present a versatile, divers and interactive program of events. The event holds some 50 various projects planned and developed to reach the visitor's expectation portraying performing arts genres, entertaining all ages that reaches all social classes. Recently, the festival had an innovative facelift where a number of artistic routes were introduced. The kids route, the red route, the classic route and the theatre route to mention some examples. The innovative system was meant to reorganise the event. The visitors can plan beforehand their night, were and what to visit and being entertained also while on transit from a venue to another. Moreover, besides setting up at the usual strategic venues, the festival aims to reach out audiences that opt to dine in open spaces around the city centre by producing roaming acts such as street theatre productions, flesh mobs and various parades. All this with the direct involvement of various Valletta communities with colourful and Mediterranean characteristics. The festival receives more than 200 artistic proposals from both local and foreign artists. Our audience sums almost one tenth of the Maltese population. Our commitment is to an event 'with' rather than 'to' the people. This is our humble success.
