Nové Scény
Nové Scény is our European artistic practice project for youth implemented in Central Europe. In this project, we organise two international festivals of French-speaking theatre in Pardubice, Czechia : Malé Scény, for younger participants (between 9 and 14 y.o.) and Velké Scény, for older participants (between 15 and 20 y.o.).
Those non-competitive festivals welcome young actors from all over Europe and the world who are practising acting in French. During those festivals, the participating groups present their plays on the small stage of the Východočeské Divadlo, the East Bohemian theatre of Pardubice, and participate in various activities: acting workshops, meet-ups with the festival's sponsors (personalities from the French-speaking world and/or acting world), European games through the city, round-table discussions, open-stage, attendance at a professional play, closing party. The participants get to experience acting on a professional stage and meet young people from all over the world who share the same passion. At the end of the festivals, each participant receives a diploma delivered during an official closing ceremony.
With these festivals, our goal is to offer a place for youth all over the world to meet and exchange through cultural practice and language, and have a multicultural experience to develop a sense of international community. In 2027, those festivals will take place from 11th to 15th of April:
- Malé Scény from 11th to 12th of April,
- Velké Scény from 12th to 15th of April.
During our previous edition in 2026, we welcomed 280 participants to our festivals from 8 different countries. We are expecting the same number of participants for the year to come.
