Olomouc Baroque festival

In 2021 will take place IX. year of the traditional Olomouc Baroque Festival, a festival in the historical setting of Baroque Olomouc. Until recently, the dramaturgy of the festival loaded only staged performances, which took place on the boards of a replica of the Baroque theater Theatrum Schrattenbach in the Jesuit boarding school.

Olomouc Baroque Festival is exceptional for its discovery dramaturgy, which includes the presentation of forgotten works by Czech and foreign authors. The Veronika Manová, dramaturge of Festival, draws mainly from the Music Archive of Kroměříž Chateau and other archives in Central Europe and consults its ideas and requirements with the performing ensembles. 

The vision of the festival for 2021 is to rediscover culture as another and restore traditions and customs that have been affected by coronavirus "pauses" suspended or canceled altogether. Organizers IX. they take the year as an opportunity to restart culture, both through cooperation with local ensembles focused on historically informed interpretation of music, and through establishing new contacts with foreign ensembles, which govern the batch opportunity to present their art at a renowned festival.

The festival is now divided into the following areas: stage performances, symphony concerts, chamber concerts, sacred music concerts and talentum.
