This 5th Edition under the moto “Basic Instinct” launches in the sumptuous Gardens of Palácio Marquês two masterpieces of Italian verismo: “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Mascagni and “Pagliacci” by Leoncavallo, right after for the younger ones, the opera tale “Little Thumb” by Isabelle Aboulker. In the open-air Amphitheatre of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, “Don Giovanni” by Mozart.
Celebrating five hundred years of one of the greatest poets of all time and father of Portuguese language Luís Vaz de Camões, the absolute premiere of cantata performance “Torment” based on Canto V of the epic poem “Lusíadas”, Maratona Ópera XXI, Cine-opera, Conferences, Debates, Workshops, closing with unique Operatic Rave.
