Oriente Occidente Dance Festival
Restarting from the reflection on travel opened with the last edition, the 42nd edition of Oriente Occidente Dance Festival will continue the journey on mobility and nomadism as tools to overcome horizons and encounter otherness. The new theme around which the programming of the new triennial will focus will be that of the Mediterranean. Mediterranean as a place of encounter and exchange, as an open basin composed of countless intertwined roads; Mediterranean of migrations, contaminations, clashes.
Thanks to the new found possibility to move, the next edition will be able to host again international looks, in search of new perspectives, processes and poetics from different places, spaces and cultures. The desire is to interrogate and give space to plural voices that can actively contribute to the deconstruction of a univocal universal thought, in favor of different and complex narratives that speak about the contemporary world. Identity, migration, collectivity and relationality are some of the main themes on which the next edition of the Festival intends to open and strengthen the debate. Alongside them, there will also be a return to reflection on cultural, social and environmental sustainability, pivotal topics of our time.
