PLANALTO – Festival das Artes is a Um Ponto no Planalto, associação cultural project.

The 1st edition of the event took place in May 2019, where for 6 days, we presented a programme with more than 30 events, divided into 6 artistic disciplines totalling more than 80 hours of programming.
It is an annual project that has in its roots the presentation of artistic projects from multiple artistic disciplines, seeking to differentiate and add value to the occupation of inland regions with a high deficit of cultural programming.
Projects in the areas of Dance, Theatre, Music, Cinema, Plastic Arts and Performance were included in its 1st edition. As well as several workshops, debates, conversations, parties and a community lunch.
Having as its main objective the democratisation of access to culture and the dynamization of the offer of cultural programming, the Planalto - Festival das Artes wants to contribute to develop self-criticism mentalities in local communities. Progressively proposing the creation of a public space of meetings and identity, practices and languages exchange. Evaluating their scope and timeliness as well as questioning them in their social, economic and cultural dimensions.
The project was conceived and structured to take place in the municipality of Moimenta da Beira. However, it is a project that wants to be extended and broaden in its programmatic and relational fronts with the entire surrounding region, also opening the possibility of partnerships with international structures and organizations.
