Ritmu Roots Festival is an international music festival, showcasing contemporary performances of traditional music which aims to inspire and connect people. This festival is a platform for the traditional performing arts while highlighting Malta's folk singing tradition 'għana' as a cultural practice thus ensuring legacy and heritage. The festival emphasises the need to support the local community of practitioners and their communities for the ongoing development of form. It therefore includes a strong element of education and awareness through activities aimed at generating new audiences, informing and introducing younger generations to the traditions, its practitioners, and its performance.
