25 Aug 2027 - 29 Aug 2027
Helsinki, Finland Helsinki, Finland

SAMPO Festival is an international festival for visual theatre and puppet theatre, organised annually in August at the heart of the Finnish capital, Helsinki. 2027 will be the 11th edition of the festival. It also marks the 50th anniversary of Puppet Theatre Sampo, the organiser of the festival. We will invite performers from around Europe again to perform at Finland's biggest festival for visual theatre and puppetry!

SAMPO Festival offers memorable, touching and entertaining performances for children and adults, showcases artists from across the field, programs different styles of puppetry and visual theatre, and crosses borders between different fields of art. In addition to performances, the program also features workshops, exhibitions, discussions, diverse artist meetings and other events.

Performances will take place at Puppet Theatre Sampos premises in the heart of Helsinki, but also other venues nearby, such as Annantalo, where we will have specially program for children. Neighbouring cities Espoo and Vantaa will also host performances. Collaborators of SAMPO Festival are Helsinki City, Helsinki Festival, Espoo City, Vantaa City, Theatre WHS Union and Teatteri Vantaa, among other establishments.
