TOP FLOOR FESTIVAL

Born in 2021, TOP FLOOR takes over self-managed and/or independent spaces each summer, offering multidisciplinary workshops and labs during the day and performances by emerging artists and a dance battle in the evening.

It brings together a multicultural community around dance and fosters encounters between artists, audiences, and practices (movement, poetry, music, visual arts, and performing arts) outside of institutional circuits. The festival is gradually expanding its reach in Belgium and internationally, hosting transnational and international artists and promoting the exchange of artists, practices, and knowledge.

Top Floor Festival is led by a team of five female artists.

With lots of love and attention, they gather fantastic artists and teachers, giving them space to transmit and share their artistry with you. The wish is to cultivate sensitivity and provoke a space for questioning and reflection -through dance, movement, collectivity, and personal stories; through the performing arts; through the many encounters that shape us. How do we open up and respond to the world that is presented to us?

Weaving a tensile thread between communities and practices, Top Floor's fate is to facilitate space to artists and movers that investigate their own means of expression and share what matters to them. We keep rising to build a common Floor for these to meet.
