ALEXANDROUPOLIS, Greece

The Traders’ Association of Alexandroupolis, a Greek city located in northern Greece on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, has organized the "White Night – Alexandroupolis" festival since 2014, with the support of the Ministry of Culture. The festival was held annually until the summer of 2019, followed by a two-year interruption (2020–2021) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and resumed in 2022.

"White Night – Alexandroupolis" is one of the largest festivals in Greece, attracting more than 30,000 visitors in a single night. It is a vibrant celebration of culture, the arts, and music, offering one of the richest cultural experiences in the country. The festival also provides emerging bands with the opportunity to perform and promote their music to a large audience. In addition, it allows artists to connect with listeners face-to-face, making these real-life interactions especially valuable.

The festival usually takes place in August. During the event, the central streets of Alexandroupolis are transformed into pedestrian zones and come alive with colourful celebrations and performances by numerous music bands playing a wide variety of musical genres, filling the city with an incredible atmosphere and energy.

"White Night – Alexandroupolis" combines culture, the arts, live music, and late-night shopping, as local shops remain open until late in the evening. In addition, the city's museums extend their opening hours, allowing visitors to enjoy a unique cultural night out. Taverns, restaurants, and cafés are filled with people and often organize special celebrations featuring Greek music performed by local bands.

The geographical location of Alexandroupolis, its vibrant festive atmosphere, and the diversity of people participating in the event all contribute to the uniqueness of "White Night – Alexandroupolis", making it one of the most memorable cultural experiences in Greece.
