XIV International Festival of Contemporary Experimental and Ethno-avant-garde Art NOUMEN ART
Noumenart (from the Greek "noumenon" - the essence comprehended by the mind) is the art of creating new meanings, the play of thought through the art form, the disclosure of the intelligible through the game, that is, through art. The noumenograf is neither an artist nor a philosopher. He only uses the means of philosophy in comprehending new meanings and uses artistic means to give them sensual outlines. He opens a new eidos through emotion, bringing pleasure to himself and others from the emotional experience of previously unknown meanings
The multi-disciplinare NOUMEN ART festival is an international cultural event, presenting to the knowledgeable audience the most artistic and advanced talent, created by people in different countries in the field of modern music, stage and screen art, fine art and synthesis of arts

The festival has the opportunity of attending events free of charge, as well as the free distribution of multimedia products containing festival materials. NOUMEN ART - Imaginary Folklore / The Concert in Memory of Mikhail Alperin
National Center of Chamber Music
May 8, 2025
Doors 7:00 p.m.
The musical work of the world-famous pianist and composer Mikhail Alperin (1956-2018) in its collage imagery and ability to connect the incompatible is comparable only to the work of Sergei Parajanov. This is especially evident in the concept of "imaginary folklore", which Alperin consistently embodied throughout his creative life.
Mikhail Alperin’s concept of "imaginary folklore" was a pioneering approach that sought to blend traditional folk motifs with innovative jazz elements, creating a unique genre that transcended cultural and musical boundaries. His works were characterized by an intricate interplay between the archaic and the avant-garde, where the soul of ancient traditions seamlessly merged with the bold, exploratory spirit of modern music. This artistic synthesis allowed Alperin to craft a distinctive soundscape, deeply rooted in the past, yet forward-thinking in its execution.
Much like Parajanov, Alperin's creative philosophy celebrated the beauty of contrasts and the richness of diversity. Through his compositions, he built bridges between Eastern European folk traditions and contemporary global musical trends, fostering a dialogue between the familiar and the unfamiliar. His collaborations with musicians from various backgrounds further underscored his commitment to inclusivity and the celebration of cultural heritage.
Alperin's legacy continues to inspire musicians and composers who seek to explore the uncharted territories of sound and imagination. His work serves as a testament to the transformative power of music to transcend borders and connect humanity through shared artistic expressions.
