Àprile - Homes for Arts Festival 4th edition 2026

10 Apr 2026 - 12 Apr 2026
Turin, Italy Lyon, France

Àprile is a festival born in Turin in 2023 that, for one entire weekend in April, transforms private homes into public spaces of free artistic expression. From New Zealand to Reggio Calabria, the festival welcomes and gathers artists — some of them presenting their work in Italy for the first time. Sculpture, installation, painting, poetry, performance, theatre, and music adapt to and explode within each domestic space, creating a new and fertile ground for exploring contemporary art and those who make it.Why a festival at home? For us, every home can become a center for independent art and culture. The home reflects our urgency to express ourselves and to meet one another in new ways and new logics. Art, and its underground world, is for us the voice of the contemporary, and we choose homes as free spaces to host it.A home also reminds us that a familiar, grounded reality — like a kitchen — can be reimagined as something else, like a theatre, and truly become one. We see the home as the ideal place to meet and exchange in a more intimate and spontaneous way.We move in favor of a new — and at the same time age-old— form of active sociality centered around art and culture. We believe that the social network and the artistic network feed one another: people make art possible, and art makes us human. We believe in communities as transformative forces.Through homes, we seize the opportunity to explore an alternative channel for artistic sharing — one that stimulates new ideas and opens ways to inhabit space and time differently, toward new forms of collective living. Trust.A replicable model: Àprile LyonAfter the first three Turin editions — with many homes opened and more than 200 artists welcomed — Àprile has now reached Lyon, thanks to a collaboration with Gamut Association, linking cities, building bridges, and above all fostering artistic exchange.Ravenna, Berlin, Naples, Belgrade — requests to “open a home” are arriving from everywhere, and we intend to give voice and life to this desire. Throughout the year, we open ourselves to new homes, collectives, neighborhoods, and people through ÀprileOff events.Àprile is an independent, self-managed, self-produced, free, and above all open project. In three years of activity, we have opened dozens of homes and hosted hundreds of artists — all made possible by the virtuous network that sustains it. Collaboration, networking, and co-creation are part of Àprile’s very nature, guided by the crew of Àprile – Homes for Arts Festival.
