2025 Fiestravaganza International Music Academy

23 Jul 2025 - 31 Jul 2025
Berlin, Germany

The third edition of the "Fiestravaganza International Music Academy" (FIMA) will be held in Berlin from 23nd to 31st July 2025, in collaboration with the University of the Arts Berlin.

As the first major piano summer academy in the German capital, FIMA offers young talents a variety of opportunities otherwise hard to obtain in one’s early career. Participants will gain recognition through solo performances and even get to perform with orchestra, while working with renowned instructors and guest speakers via the masterclasses/seminars offered.

What we offer

  • Individual Masterclasses with all renowned faculty members: Jacques Rouvier, Christian A. Pohl, Lucas Blondeel and Shaun Choo.
  • Lessons take place on both modern and historic pianos, thanks to the exclusive access to Bechstein’s extensive Vintage Keyboard Instrument collection, allowing participants to explore musical history and craftsmanship.
  • Workshops on Fortepiano and Piano Methodology.
  • Chamber music rehearsals alongside string peers and members of two promising Berlin ensembles: The Viatores Quartet and The Fiestravaganza Ensemble.
  • Concert performances in notable venues such as the University of the Arts Berlin.
  • Numerous performance opportunities across solo, chamber, and orchestral settings, including a piano concerto movement with the Camerata Fiestravaganza (for enhanced participation only).

As the highlight, selected participants will get to perform a movement of a Piano Concerto with the "Camerata Fiestravaganza" orchestra in front of hundreds of audiences during the opening or closing gala concerts.

NEW STRINGS CATEGORY

Building on its successful piano program, FIMA 2025 introduces an exciting new opportunity for talented young string players. String participants will benefit from:

  • Individual and group coaching from members of two promising Berlin ensembles: The Viatores Quartet and The Fiestravaganza Ensemble.
  • Opportunities to present solo, chamber and orchestral works.
  • Chamber music rehearsals alongside piano peers and mentors.
  • Concert performances in venues such as the University of the Arts Berlin.
  • Selected participants will join the string sections of the Camerata Fiestravaganza at the FIMA 2025 closing gala.

The intensive, bespoke programme promotes the development of a well-rounded musician, which sets FIMA apart from many festivals.
