20th TOLFARTE International Street Art and Artistic Handicraft Festival

The 20th Edition of the TOLFARTE International Street Art and Artistic Handicraft Festival will be held from 2nd to 4th August 2024.

Tolfarte is an artistic and cultural event implemented during the first weekend of August in the small town of Tolfa (near Rome). The Festival was launched for the first time in 2005 by the Comunità Giovanile di Tolfa, a group of young visionaries who still today make up the organisational and artistic directors. Tolfarte immediately set itself as a meeting and exchange point between the local artisan and artistic culture and the most innovative and avant-garde forms of street art. With a programme of local and national artists, exhibitions, installations and performances, it immediately registered both a strong external adhesion and a broad consensus on the part of the inhabitants of the country. All this, thanks to the originality of the proposal, the ability to involve local artists and craft resources and the desire to sensitise young people to art and greater participation in the life of the country, considering the latter no longer as a small immobile space but as a universe of inexhaustible possibilities. Since its creation, Tolfarte has been carried out in close collaboration with the Municipality of Tolfa, main partner of the Project. Today Tolfarte receives more than 60,000 visitors (free entry) and is considered a good practice of participation in the cultural policies not only of the municipality of Tolfa but also of the Lazio Region and at the Italian level. Over time it has received numerous awards and obtained the support of some Italian institutions and sponsors.
