24th Japanese Film Festival Nippon Connection

The world's largest festival for Japanese cinema presents over 100 current Japanese films in Frankfurt am Main over six days from 28 May to 2 June: from independent films and blockbusters to anime and documentaries, including many German, international and world premieres.

The 24th Nippon Connection Japanese Film Festival is dedicated to the theme "Crossing Borders", which focuses on the relationship between Japanese cinema and foreign countries.

Numerous filmmakers will be on site for discussions with the audience. Concerts, workshops and lectures complete the programme and invite you to experience the multifaceted culture of Japan. With 18,500 spectators last year, Nippon Connection is one of the most popular festivals in Hesse.

The festival is organised by a team of 80 volunteers from the non-profit Nippon Connection e.V. association.
