The festival is traditionally held within the captivating atmosphere of the Old City of Plovdiv and the Ethnographic Museum, an architectural gem. Founded by a group of distinguished Bulgarian musicians with the vital support of the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Plovdiv, and the Bulgarian Concert Directorate, the festival has become a cornerstone of Plovdiv's cultural identity. This was further solidified when Plovdiv was designated the European Capital of Culture in 2019.
Organized by the Academy for Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, the festival is poised to celebrate its 62nd edition in 2026, a remarkable milestone that underscores its lasting significance.
