Founded by a group of distinguished Bulgarian musicians with the vital support of the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Plovdiv, and the Bulgarian Concert Directorate, the festival has become a cornerstone of Plovdiv's cultural identity. This was further solidified when Plovdiv was designated the European Capital of Culture in 2019.
