Venue: CICUS · Courtyard (C/ Madre de Dios, 1)The Ahora Danza Festival, organized by the Centro de Iniciativas Culturales de la Universidad de Sevilla (CICUS) in collaboration with Fernando Lima and Alysson Maia of Eléctrica Cultura, returns to the CICUS courtyard starting on May 15. Held every Thursday at 8:00 p.m. until June 5, the series will bring together ten companies: nine national and local ones, and one international — the Italian Bellanda.Through the Acieloabierto Network, the Spanish Network of Contemporary Dance Festivals in Non-Conventional Spaces, and with the support of the National Institute for the Performing Arts and Music (INAEM) of the Ministry of Culture, the program will include the following companies and performances: Qabalum (Pamplona) 'Todo este ruido', Daniel Rodríguez (Pontevedra) 'A raíz de', Colectivo Banquet (Madrid) 'Seu aquí'— featuring Seville-based dancer Ana F. Melero — Kiko López (Valencia) 'Honest', and Arnau Pérez (Barcelona) 'Vibra!'.This edition will also feature the Italian Compagnia Bellanda (Friuli-Venezia Giulia), formed by Giovanni Gava and Lia Claudia Latini, awarded for Simposio at the Masdanza Festival in the Canary Islands, representing the international collaboration within the Acieloabierto Network. All of these choreographies will be presented in Seville for the first time.In addition, the program will include Daniel Rosado (Huelva), from Colectivo Lamajara, performing his solo 'Faralaes'. The Seville-based dance-theatre company Buruzbera, made up of Ángela González, Susana Casado, and Javier Domínguez, will present a new street version of their acclaimed piece 'Simulacro', nominated for the Lorca Awards 2025 and winner of the Emerging Company Award at the Premios Escenarios de Sevilla 2024.The local scene will also feature another premiere in non-conventional spaces: 'Y el regusto', by the young company La Imbuición, formed by Alejandra Ruiz de Alda and Raquel Lao.As a novelty this year, dancer and actor Javier Domínguez (Buruzbera Company) will lead a short participatory workshop, '¿Bailamos? (Shall we dance?)', closing the final Ahora Danza evening with a festive finale of Latin rhythms, inviting the audience to move and enjoy.AHORA DANZA. CICUS.
