Brighton Early Music Festival 2025 takes the theme of Love in all its forms, with the pre-festival period and each of the three festival weekends exploring a different type of love – Philia, Xenia, Agape and Eros.
Highlights include the UK premiere of a 1736 French baroque opera by Mlle Duval; La Fonte Musica visiting from Italy with Monteverdi’s Combattimento; The Gesualdo Six with 16th-century programme Queen of Hearts; and Lieder from mezzo Helen Charlston and the Consone Quartet.
