CAMINS ALTERNATIUS is an annual international festival dedicated to performance, performing arts, and live arts, bringing together emerging and established artists who are exploring new ways of creating, performing, and engaging with audiences.

NEXT EDITION 27-30 May 2027- In May, those projects return in their developed form as part of the main festival programme. The result is a unique opportunity for audiences to witness how ideas grow, transform, and ultimately become performances.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT PREVIEW March 2027- In March, participating artists begin developing new projects through a period of research, experimentation, and creative exploration. Audiences are invited to experience works-in-progress and gain insight into the artistic process while projects are still evolving.

Now in its sixth edition, the festival has become a space where artistic research meets public presentation, where ideas are tested, performances are developed, and audiences are invited into the creative process. Hosted by the Institute of the Arts Barcelona in Sitges, CAMINS ALTERNATIUS celebrates risk-taking, interdisciplinary practices, and the discovery of new artistic paths.

Every year, artists are invited to develop, share, and test new ideas with audiences. The festival welcomes work that challenges traditional formats and embraces experimentation, dialogue, and participation. Across the programme, audiences may encounter intimate solo performances, durational works unfolding over several hours, interventions in unexpected spaces, movement-based pieces, live art actions, interactive installations, artist talks, and workshops.
