The 2024 Faito Doc Festival – XVII Edition: “Roots”The Faito Doc Festival, a prestigious international documentary film festival held from July 18 to 25, 2024,at Monte Faito, Vico Equense (Naples), successfully concluded its 17th edition.

This year’s theme, "Roots," celebrated diverse perspectives through cinema, nature, and multidisciplinary arts.The festival has grown into one of the most prominent documentary events in Southern Italy, recognized for:

1. Unique Location: The natural splendor of Monte Faito, a 1,131-meter park overlooking the Gulf of Naples.

2. High-Quality Selection: A lineup of 50 films, including international premieres, across four competitions (feature, short, student films, and a national competition) and several special screenings.

3. Diverse Jury Groups: Two international juries (professionals and youth) and three local juries fostering community engagement.

4. Creative Multidisciplinary Activities: Workshops, masterclasses, land art, sensory dinners, and nature walks.

Key Program Highlights Film Competitions

1. International Feature Competition: Showcased nine films from global filmmakers, addressing themes from personal resilience to social and environmental challenges.

2. International Short Competition: Included six carefully selected films, showcasing innovative storytelling in condensed formats.

3. Student Film Competition: Featured 11 works from prestigious film schools worldwide, offering a platform for emerging talent.

4. National Competition for the City of Vico Equense Award: Highlighted Italian filmmaking with six outstanding entries.

5. Special Event Screenings: Presented 14 curated films, including classics, retrospectives, and unique regional projects.

6. Docs for Kids: Screened four engaging films tailored for younger audiences.

7. Cross-Festival Collaboration: Partnered with the Peloponnisos International Film Festival to share cultural narratives through four collaborative films.
