Festival Intenazionale Nuova Danza FIND 42

42 years have passed since the first edition of FIND, which in the 80s, thanks to the foresight of its founder Paola Leoni, hosted the first works of the Italians Enzo Cosimi, Virgilio Sieni, Fabrizio Monteverde and international stars such as Ismael Ivo, Trisha Brown, Angelin Preljocaj, Kazuo Ohno, Lucinda Childs, Frédéric Flamand, and many others. After Paola Leoni, following her teachings, her revolutionary ideas and, above all, her vision of dance, we tried to build year by year programmes that would photograph the current reality and to discover its innovative impulses towards worlds still unexplored.

The value of FIND is not limited only to the richness of the programme, but also to its articulation and declination, which make it a cultural event that radiates spatially and conceptually outside the circle of dance. FIND Festival, in addition to an innovative main programme, is characterised by new actions that involve the community through the production and organisation of performances in unconventional places in order to conquer new audiences and to diffuse the culture of dance in the so called "cultural peripheries" and consequently engage and inspire the audience to "rediscover" theatres. Since its beginning, FIND has always been creating new formats to attract the community’s interest and participation. Hence the creation of new events for every edition, that complement the programme by offering an articulated and varied artistic experience, welcoming the creativity of local and non-local artists, fostering synergies between the artist and realities not strictly related to the world of dance, such as public schools, universities and city businesses.
