More than the destination, it’s the journey that matters.Festival N2 was first held in 2018, inspired by the growing fascination with National Road 2, the iconic route that connects Chaves in the north of Portugal to Faro in the south.Created with a clear ambition to stand out within Portugal’s expanding festival landscape, Festival N2 built its identity around a carefully curated concert programme, with a strong focus on Portuguese music projects alongside emerging and established artists from across Europe.Over time, Festival N2 has become a living metaphor for the road itself. Once a year, audiences are invited to celebrate journeys, crossroads, travel, and adventure, bringing together thousands of people with different stories, backgrounds, and paths to share.In 2021, the festival received seven nominations at the Iberian Festival Awards and won two major distinctions: Best Live Performance and Best Covid Safe Festival. These achievements further strengthened the festival’s structure and recognition.After seven editions, Festival N2 has grown, evolved, and endured the bumps and turns of the road.Thanks to its cultural relevance in the city of Chaves, the social dynamics it fosters, and the strong synergies it creates, Festival N2 has established itself as a key reference among medium-sized music festivals in Portugal.The road ahead looks bright for Festival N2.
