FUSA Dance Festival

FUSA Dance Festival is a transatlantic contemporary dance biennale created by Althea Dance Company, alternating between Paris and New York City. The festival supports the circulation of choreographic work and fosters dialogue between the French and American dance communities through performances, workshops, and artistic exchange.The next edition will take place in New York City in August 2026, building on the momentum of the 2025 Paris edition and continuing its mission to create a vibrant space for movement, connection, and experimentation.What's Coming in 2026The upcoming 2026 edition will feature:- Evening performances showcasing a diverse lineup of emerging and established artists- Contemporary dance workshops for professionals and advanced dancers- Public talks and informal gatherings designed to encourage dialogue between creators and audiencesWhile the artist lineup and venues are still in development, the structure will follow FUSA’s signature format: intimate, interdisciplinary, and inclusive. Events will be hosted across traditional theaters and unconventional spaces in New York City, embracing the diversity of its artistic landscape.FUSA encourages artistic risk-taking, cultural dialogue, and new choreographic languages. The festival serves not only as a stage, but as a meeting ground for dancers, choreographers, producers, and curious audiences from around the world.A Glance Back – FUSA Paris 2025The most recent edition took place in September 2025 across several Parisian venues including Consulat Voltaire, Fondation des États-Unis, and FIAP Jean Monnet. It featured:- A curated program of 15+ artists and companies from France, the USA, Italy, and beyond- Performances by Althea Dance Company, including Body Memories and Mirorim- A 3-day intensive workshop “In Motion” for professional dancers- A strong focus on accessibility, with free events and open community programmingEach night of the festival offered distinct perspectives on contemporary movement and identity, and welcomed a broad audience—from dance professionals to newcomers.Looking AheadFUSA is a growing platform for contemporary dance and artistic collaboration across borders. Since its launch in 2023, it has presented works at La MaMa Theater (New York), Fondation des États-Unis (Paris), and other key venues, bringing together artists working at the intersections of movement, sound, text, and visual art.As FUSA returns to New York in 2026, it renews its commitment to:- Supporting emerging choreographers and new work- Creating transatlantic artistic opportunities- Promoting diversity, accessibility, and creative freedom
