Idil Biret Music Festival
The Idil Biret Music Festival, organised by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, has been held since 2017. Named after the world-renowned Turkish pianist Idil Biret, it is the first and only festival in Türkiye to bear her name.
The festival was first held in 2017 at the Ancient City of Stratonikeia, located in the Yatağan district of Muğla. This inaugural concert, staged in a historic setting, drew a large audience and marked an unforgettable beginning. By bringing classical music together with history and culture, the festival aims to offer audiences a unique experience.
The Idil Biret Music Festival not only honours the name of an outstanding artist but also plays a leading role in bringing culture and the arts closer to the public by introducing classical music to wider audiences. Attracting growing interest each year, the festival combines Muğla’s rich historical and cultural heritage with the elegance of music, creating significant cultural value for both audiences and the region.
