Innenhöflichkeiten | Dvoriščnice

Innenhöflichkeiten | Dvoriščnice is an interdisciplinary mini-festival in Carinthia with a strong focus on the Alpe-Adria region. It combines contemporary art and music, cross-border and gender-inclusive.Originally launched between 1986–1988 by the association Innenhofkultur in the courtyard of the Goldene Gans in Klagenfurt, the “courteous” cultural format brought international musicians and visual arts into an intimate courtyard setting. In 2024, the festival was revived under its new name Innenhöflichkeiten | Dvoriščnice, expanding its scope to the Alpe-Adria region in collaboration with Slovenian and Italian partners. The first edition took place in the garden of Villa For Forest, uniting exhibition, music, and culinary experiences over two days. A defining feature was the strong female presence (over 70%) on and behind the stage, as well as the support of young artists from Austria, Slovenia, and Italy.The festival promotes cross-border collaboration in the Alpe-Adria region and creates visibility for young, contemporary art and music with a clear focus on diversity and sustainability. Its audience consists of culturally engaged people from Carinthia, Slovenia, and Northern Italy: urban, open-minded, multilingual, and passionate about contemporary culture.
