International ZurnaZen Festival

The International ZurnaZen Festival is organised by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality. As the first and only festival of its kind in Türkiye and the world, the International ZurnaZen Festival brings together the zurna, an instrument deeply rooted in Muğla’s cultural traditions and accompanying weddings, bridal processions and many of life’s most joyful occasions, with its counterparts from around the world. Through the unifying power of music, the festival aims to bring artists from different geographical regions together in Muğla, a city of culture, and to spread messages of love and tolerance across the world through the melodies resonating from Muğla’s stages. 

Offering something for audiences of all ages, the festival gives participants the opportunity to discover familiar melodies, dance to lively rhythms, experience emotional performances and encounter the musical traditions of distant cultures. In a relatively short period of time, the festival has reached a wide audience and continues to progress steadily towards becoming an established cultural tradition.

Over the years, the festival has gained increasing recognition and attracted a growing audience. It has received coverage in both local and national media, while its international character has also drawn considerable interest from participating countries.
