International Ölüdeniz Air Games Festival

The International Ölüdeniz Air Games Festival is organised by Fethiye Municipality and is one of Türkiye’s longest-running and most internationally recognised air sports events. Held at the Babadağ take-off sites and Ölüdeniz Belcekız Beach, the festival transforms both the sky and the coastline into a dynamic performance space where sport, nature, tourism and culture come together. 

The festival aims to promote Fethiye and Babadağ as a world-class centre for air sports, encourage younger generations to take an interest in aviation, and raise awareness of safe and responsible participation in nature-based sports. By taking place in autumn, it also helps extend the tourism season, supports local businesses and contributes to the sustainable economic development of the region. 

Its programme includes spectacular paragliding and aerobatic displays, as well as BASE jump, wingsuit, paramotor, microlight and hang-gliding performances by professional athletes. Depending on the annual programme, the festival may also feature official flight demonstrations, motorised paragliding and hot-air balloon displays, together with honour flights by national aerobatic teams. At Belcekız Beach, visitors can enjoy free public events throughout the day, including DJ performances, aviation club stands, model-aircraft workshops for children and young people, open-air concerts and performances by local artists. These activities make the festival accessible not only to professional athletes and aviation enthusiasts, but also to families, residents and visitors of all ages. Bringing together hundreds of professional athletes from more than 50 countries, the festival promotes international cooperation, intercultural dialogue, friendship and fair play. 

At the same time, it highlights the importance of protecting the unique natural environment of Babadağ and Ölüdeniz by demonstrating how outdoor and air sports can be organised in harmony with nature. Through its international character, free public programme and strong connection with the local community, the festival contributes to Fethiye’s cultural visibility, tourism economy and global recognition.
