JazzEra Festival
JazzEra Festival is an international jazz festival founded in Croatia in 2020, with a distinctive focus on female artists, vocal music and artistic exchange. The festival brings together outstanding Croatian and international vocalists and musicians, presenting concerts, open jam sessions and collaborative performances in inspiring locations surrounded by the natural beauty of Gorski Kotar.
Since its foundation, JazzEra has presented:
Valerija Nikolovska & Viktor Lipić (HR); Zvezdana Novaković (SLO); Lana Janjanin (HR); Color Freedom (USA/HR); Kaplowitz Trio (USA/HR); Sandra Halužan Quartet (HR); Lela & Joe Kaplowitz (HR/USA); Veronica Marini & Dario Piccioni (IT); JE VEUX (HR); Tamara Obrovac & Uroš Rakovec (HR/SLO); Amalia Baraona & Vitor Garbelotto (POR/BR); Alena Orović (HR); Elis Lovrić (HR); and Michaela Rabitsch & Robert Pawlik Quartet (A).
JazzEra is closely connected to a week-long international vocal camp held alongside the festival. The invited festival artists also act as mentors, giving masterclasses to the camp participants and sharing their experience in vocal technique, interpretation, improvisation, stage presence and professional artistic development. This creates a unique bridge between the festival stage and education, allowing emerging singers to learn directly from the artists they hear in concert.
JazzEra is therefore both a festival and a meeting place for exceptional female voices, musicians, emerging artists and audiences, combining high-quality performances with education, improvisation and community.
