Les Boutographies edition 2027

Les Boutographies is an annual photography festival based in Montpellier, France. 

Each edition is built around an open international call for photographers. A new jury is appointed every year to review the submissions and select the artists presented during the festival. The main exhibition features seven selected photographers, offering audiences the opportunity to discover emerging and contemporary photographic practices from France and abroad. 

Alongside the exhibition, eleven additional photographers are selected to present their work through a dedicated projection programme, allowing the festival to showcase a broader range of photographic approaches and artists. The festival also presents the work produced during its annual photography residency, allowing the resident artist to share the outcome of their research and creative process with the public. 

Beyond the main exhibition venue, Les Boutographies extends throughout the city with seven additional exhibitions presented in four different locations in Montpellier. This city-wide programme creates connections between photography and different cultural spaces and encourages audiences to discover the festival across the city.

A portfolio review is also organised during the festival, offering selected photographers and other participants the opportunity to meet with photography professionals, receive feedback on their work and develop new professional connections. Through its combination of exhibitions, projections, residency, portfolio reviews and events across the city, each edition of Boutographies creates a space for discovery, exchange and dialogue around contemporary photography, while supporting emerging artists and encouraging connections between the local and international photographic scenes.
