Mezi ploty 2026

30 May 2026 - 31 May 2026
Prague, Czechia

The 2026 edition of the Mezi ploty (Between the Fences) festival will be a major cultural event on the grounds of the Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital in Prague, the Czech Republic. It will feature tens of famous musicians and bands as well as theatre and dance companies across a broad range of genres – from drama and puppetry to new circus, from rock, folk and jazz to hip-hop, rap, punk and electronic music. Moreover, alongside famous professional musicians and actors, amateur artists and artists with various physical and mental handicaps will be performing – on the same stages and before the same audiences as everyone else. The event will thus foster social inclusion and promote the arts as a means to mutual understanding and fulfilling life.Apart from the artistic events, the festival will include a range of activities to support mental health, such as debates with leading psychologists, psychiatrists and peer counsellors on addiction, stress, anxiety, depression, burnout syndrome and other mental health issues, as well as demonstrations of relaxation, meditation, yoga and various psychotherapeutic techniques.Several public debates will take place during the festival – with personalities such as leading scientists, journalists and even politicians. Finally, many NGOs will take part in the event, mainly those which provide important services to the ill, handicapped or people in need. They will interact with festivalgoers through workshops, presentations and other engaging activities. All in all, as in its previous editions, the festival will unleash the power of art to promote both mental health and wellbeing and important humanistic values such as tolerance, respect, inclusion, and solidarity.
