Oglede festival
OGLEDE is an international interdisciplinary festival of contemporary performing arts held annually in Velika Gorica, Croatia. Founded in 2023 and organised by the independent artistic organisation Štoos Theatre, the festival brings together theatre, contemporary dance, circus, performance art, visual arts and music, creating a dynamic platform for artistic experimentation, exchange and encounters with audiences.
The festival's distinctive identity lies in its relationship with the city. Rather than limiting artistic experiences to conventional cultural venues, OGLEDE transforms public spaces, unexpected locations and everyday urban environments into temporary stages and sites of artistic intervention. Through this approach, the festival encourages audiences to rediscover familiar surroundings, question established perceptions and experience contemporary art as an accessible and integral part of public life.
The fifth edition of OGLEDE Festival will take place from 30 September to 2 October 2027, under the thematic framework “IMA MJESTA / A Seat at the Table.” The theme explores ideas of belonging, inclusion, participation and the right to occupy space, both physically and symbolically. Who is invited to participate? Who remains outside? How can artistic practices create space for different voices, perspectives and experiences? These questions will inform the festival's artistic programme and its relationship with the local community.
