Ogni Altro Suono is a live performance festival interested in creating a dialogue between the folk music tradition and the different incarnations of experimentation in sound, under the artistic direction of Donato Epiro.

The first edition, held from September to December 2021, featured fifteen local and national artists in dialogue with each other. The musicians were invited to interact with the spaces of KORA, enhancing their uniqueness through sound-specific interventions realised within the different rooms and environments.

The live music programme was flanked by the production of podcasts that remain as traces of an intimate and informal dialogue between the artists:Massimo Carozzi – Gaspare Sammartano , Giovanni Di Domenico – Donatello Pisanello, Enrico Malatesta – Luca Tarantino, Emiliano Maggi, Maria Valentina Chirico – La Cantiga de la Serena, Giovanni Lami – Raffaella Aprile, Stefano Pilia – Enza Pagliara and Dario Muci, Francesco Cavaliere – Claudio Cavallo.

The second edition of Ogni Altro Suono, hosted at the KORA – Contemporary Art Center spaces from October to December 2022, continues the multidisciplinary project of sound residencies and musical performances whose programme was conceived and realised as an integral part of the exhibition Parla del tuo Villaggio, curated by Paolo Mele and Claudio Zecchi and set up at the Palazzo De Gualtieriis in Castrignano de’ Greci.

“Sound” in its broadest and apparently distant manifestations is revealed as a means and instrument to reflect on the theme of inhabiting a collective dimension such as that of the “village”.

The project envisages the participation of artists whose research ranges across fields such as contemporary music, electronic music, folk tradition, performance, visual art, contaminating themselves with ecology, anthropology and history, in a constant dialogue between ancient and contemporary, local and global, real and virtual.

As part of the programme, APRITE LE ORECCHIE! concerts and workshops for children, discovering the freest and most adventurous manifestations of sound for an introduction to listening to electronic music, amidst, synthesisers, tapes and concrete sounds.

The artists of this second edition are: Redi Hasa Trio -Francesco Massaro, Marco Paltrinieri – Ottaven, Noise Shadows, Marta De Pascalis – Carlos Casas, Ninfa Giannuzzi – Sara Berts, Maria Mazzotta – IOKOI, Ensemble Calixtinus – Alessandra Novaga.Graphic project: Ramdom, photo and video: Alice Caracciolo, Alice Stella; The programme is supported by the FUS – Fondo Unico dello Spettacolo of the Ministry of Culture
