Ogni Altro Suono 2024

18 May 2024 - 21 Dec 2024
Castrignano De' Greci, Italy

Ogni Altro Suono is a multidisciplinary project that was born and developed within Kora - Contemporary Arts Center, in the historic palace, Palazzo Baronale De Gulatieris in Castrignano De Greci, in the heart of a region of Southern Italy called Grecìa Salentina. The project, now in its fourth edition, involved artists whose research, which cannot be limited to a single discipline or area, ranges across areas such as contemporary music, folk tradition, performance, visual art, contaminated with ecology, anthropology and history in a constant dialogue between ancient and contemporary, local and global, real and virtual. In 2024, "sound", in its most diverse and apparently distant manifestations, will be a means and instrument for reflecting on the Mediterranean considered not only in its geographical extension and determination, but through a broader line capable of tracing the root of a common feeling among the peoples who inhabit it. In this sense, the Mediterranean and its Eastern European roots which originate in Greece become the hyphen of the entire proposal. The artists will be able to delve deeper into the proposed themes, each developing them according to their own particular vision and within the sound context of reference, allowing themselves to be inspired by the exchange of knowledge and comparison with the people, the environment and the history of the geographical area that will host them, enriching them with the experience of their own cultural and musical backgrounds and their own experiences. The programme intends to express itself and develop through different formats such as artistic residencies, concerts, performances, installations and workshops.
