OpenLAB 5

OpenLAB 5 is the fifth edition of Medialab’s annual festival, an event that constitutes the culmination of our yearly thematic program. The festival includes project presentations, guest speakers, performances, exhibitions, screenings, workshops, and networking sessions.In particular, the OpenLAB festival showcases the outcomes of Medialab’s research and production short-term residency program, called Collaborative Prototyping Lab, which over the last 4 years has brought to Madrid more than 150 creators and researchers from different countries and with a broad range of backgrounds. The 4th Collaborative Prototyping Lab will take place right before the festival, from November 12th through the 26th, 2025.The OpenLAB series began in 2022 and continued in the following years, touching upon the topics of Sentient media (OpenLAB 1, 2022), The Metabolic Sublime (OpenLAB 2, 2023), Synthetic Minds (OpenLAB 3, 2024), and Weird Futures (OpenLAB 4, November 2025). The 5th edition of the OpenLAB will take place on November 2026 in the same venue.
