ORIENTE OCCIDENTE DANCE FESTIVAL - 44° edition
Oriente Occidente Dance Festival will return with the final chapter around the theme Mediterranei. The programme will combine names of the international scene like Seeta Patel and Leïla Ka, Italian production and new trends from the world thanks to the important collaboration with Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF). The focus will be on relations in the Mediterranean area, a space full of contradictions and contrasts that has long been a meeting point and clash of opposing poles. Emerging economies are weaving alliances among themselves and establishing relations with what was known as the "West." What characterises these relationships? If disparities and inequalities are undeniable, how much culture, art, fashion, dance, music comes from afar and undergoes processes of appropriation? How unequal is this relationship still? What will bethe consequences? Oriente Occidente Dance Festival will try to ask these questions, together with artists who will show the ambivalences and contradictions of the world.
