PannOpticum

“PannOpticum” is a three-day biennial theater festival that has been held in Neusiedl am See, Burgenland, since 2003. The festival focuses on presenting professional, international, contemporary puppetry. Whether you’re a puppet-theater enthusiast or new to the world of puppetry, there’s a wide variety of indoor and outdoor events and activities to offer a diverse festival experience.In practice, puppetry as a genre often merges with other art forms such as performance, music, visual arts, experimental film, contemporary circus or dance. The PannOpticum consciously blurs its boundaries and sees itself as a platform for all these art forms, always in relation to or in dialogue with contemporary puppetry. Puppetry is presented in all its diversity – as diverse as the individuals who practise it.
