Three days, dozens of concerts, and the search for balance: Pop Messe brings Oklou, Einstürzende Neubauten and OvermonoBrno festival Pop Messe celebrates the 6th year of its existence and, at one of the world’s oldest still-functioning velodromes, will welcome German legends Einstürzende Neubauten, the phenomenal breakout of contemporary pop Oklou, and the cutting edge of today’s dance scene, UK duo Overmono, from 6 to 8 August 2026. “Artistic playfulness—courting, or on the contrary breaking up with the pop-music genre,” describes the curatorial intention Tomáš Kelar, who has led the festival since its inception.The headliners of the three festival days are the German icons Einstürzende Neubauten, who even in their fifth decade continue to search for new forms of artistic expression; French musician Oklou, whose vision of the pop of the future has brought her collaborations with names like FKA twigs and Dua Lipa; and on the final day, the bass-music engineers Overmono. The closing day will also be crowned by a concert from boundary-crossing Richard Müller.Riding the wave of his Golden Globe–nominated soundtrack for the film Sirat, French producer Kangding Ray will come to Brno; alongside him, other leading figures from the dance and electronic scene are also headed to the Moravian metropolis, including Ben UFO. Swedish musician Anna von Hausswolff will also appear—an artist equally at home in darkness and in ethereal choral passages—as will the melancholic Current Joys. Duo Weval will present a live set, and Obongjayar arrives as a superstar in the making.Pop Messe will, as always, present the best of the Czech and Slovak scene, too: this year’s edition promises concerts by Gufrau and the band Dukla, while the Kill Your Rap Idols project will bring together Fvck_Kvlt, Berlin Manson, Dušan Vlk and Edúv syn.
